My name is Kate Vavra-Musser. I am currently a PhD Student in the Population, Health, and Place program with the Spatial Sciences Institute at the University of Southern California. This program is an interdisciplinary program combining with the Spatial Sciences Institute, and Departments of Sociology and Preventative Medicine at USC.

My work centers on the topics of environmental health, environmental justice, sustainability, equity, and climate change. One of my career goals is to focus on work which improves the lives of people and the health of the environment. My drive to do good work is my motivation to volunteer with DSSG.

My technical skills include coding and statistical programming in R, Stata, and Python, mapping in QGIS and ArcGIS, and data visualization. I also have some experience with SAS, SQL, and Postgres.
