Charlene Zhi Lin Ong (charleneolive)

I am Charlene and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science in Nanyang Technological University. For the past two years, I have been involved in medical image analysis research, and is currently also an Associate Scientist in MSD International GmbH. I have also handled multiple data science projects, and have experience in the use of machine learning and deep learning for the fields of computer vision and natural language processing. I mainly use Python, although I have experience in R, SQL and Matlab, and I have also previously created web apps using React and NodeJS.

During these 1.5 years, I become increasingly frustrated about the situation around the world and would like to channel my energy and skills to help society. At the same time, I hope that I can also utilise my data science knowledge to solving various real world problems, beyond academia and research.
