Hi, my name is Radhika and I'm a young and energetic entry-level public health professional with 8 years of experience volunteering, interning, and working professionally in the field of public health, both domestically and internationally. I received my Master's in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016 and have worked across a variety of settings to include non-profits, health departments, academic institutions, and community-based settings.
My passion and expertise lies in synthesizing data in the form of numbers, interviews, maps, testimonies, stories, social media, etc. to provide a narrative for the public health epidemics plaguing our societies today. I have worked alongside data experts on projects to help bridge the gap between data and real-world application in the areas of food security, domestic violence, oral health, youth development, refugee and immigrant rights, etc.
I bring experience in program development, public health planning, research, & evaluation; data management & analysis using Excel, SPSS, and a working proficiency in R. Additionally, I have experience working with diverse multi-disciplinary teams to carry out public health goals across a variety of issue areas.
I'm looking to volunteer with DSSG Solve to really hone my data science & statistical skills while solving real world humanitarian issues. I would like to gain experience working in-depth with datasets and conducting statistical analyses using SAS. I have an intermediate proficiency level conducting data cleaning & analysis using Excel and SPSS and working proficiency in R and SAS.
I am most interested in working on projects that are in the areas of public and global health, epidemiology, disease outbreak surveillance but I'm also open to other humanitarian related projects.
Thank you,
Radhika Agarwal
