Hi! My name is Mitushi, and I am a student at UC Davis. I have experience in Java, Python, and R. I have taken multiple programming classes in college. I have also taken the first two classes in the Statistical Data Science Series at university, where I learnt to use R for exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and simple and multiple linear regression. I will be taking the third class in the spring quarter, which will cover topics such as supervised and unsupervised learning, bootstrapping, and cross-validation.
I have always liked giving back to my community; therefore, in high school, I volunteered to teach elementary and middle school kids Java and Python. I also volunteered at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop. I want to continue to volunteer in college. As I took more data science-related courses, I realized how valuable data can be and how, in real life, it's not easy to use.
I would love to work on projects related to Public Policy, Poverty, Education, Environment, and Gender Equality. Through volunteering, I hope to gain problem-solving experience and build new connections. I don't have a lot of hands-on experience with programming; however, I am willing to learn and explore new things!
