Dear Volunteer Coordinator,
My name is Snigdha Reddy Nannuri, and I am completing my Master of Science in Data Science at the University of North Texas. Over the past several years, I’ve built a strong foundation in Python-based data pipelines, SQL database management, and exploratory analysis—skills I’ve applied in both academic projects and hackathons. For example, as a Data Student Assistant at UNT Dining Services, I designed ETL workflows using PostgreSQL and Python/Pandas to clean and merge 1.5 million daily transaction records, enabling a predictive model that ultimately decreased wait times by 15%. This experience solidified my passion for turning raw data into actionable insights.
I’m motivated to volunteer because I believe in giving back while continuing to learn. Applying my data science expertise pro bono allows me to contribute where it matters most—supporting organizations that lack in-house analytics capacity. Through my hackathon work (e.g., AgerAmicus and EcoEduBot), I’ve seen how strategic data collection and cleaning can transform decision-making for nonprofits and community groups. Outside of technical work, I bring strong organizational and communication skills: as a Graduate Student Council Senator, I facilitated meetings between stakeholders, synthesized feedback into action plans, and ensured follow-through on collaborative initiatives. As a Student Ambassador, I taught workshops on data visualization and mentored incoming students through technical onboarding. These experiences have sharpened my ability to translate complex concepts into accessible language. I look forward to contributing my skills to help your organization establish robust, reliable data foundations. Thank you for considering my application.
Warm regards,
Snigdha Reddy Nannuri M.S. Data Science ’25, University of North Texas [snigdha.reddy4802@gmail.com]
