My name is Elena, I am a PhD Economist with a background in labor economics and experience in renewable energy modeling and energy generation optimization.

I enjoy using publicly available data and open-source software to understand the economy and society and share this understanding with others. I like all aspects of a data science project, including scoping, modeling, creating effective visualizations and writing.

I would like to work on projects that promote well-being, economic equity and environmental sustainability. My current interest is the U.S. labor market during the COVID pandemic.

I am most experienced in R and related tools like RMarkdown. However, I am comfortable with data science in Python.
