Hello, my name is Evelyn Shi, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Interactive Intelligence at Georgia Tech. My academic and professional background has equipped me with a strong foundation in data analysis, machine learning, and public health, which I am passionate about applying to meaningful causes. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work on several impactful projects, such as developing the COVID summary dashboard for the State of Hawaii’s website during my time at Salesforce. This project allowed me to manage the entire data pipeline—from collection to processing to visualization—ensuring that public health officials had accurate and actionable insights during a critical time.
In addition to my professional experience, I have also volunteered with various organizations focused on health and data. My motivation for volunteering stems from a desire to use my skills to make a tangible difference in the world. I am particularly interested in projects that involve health data, public health, and social impact, as I believe these areas offer the greatest opportunity to create positive change.
When it comes to projects and work, I prefer roles that challenge me to think critically and solve complex problems, especially those that involve large datasets and require innovative solutions. My goal is to help organizations harness the power of data to make informed decisions and improve outcomes for the communities they serve. I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with others who share my passion for public health and to contribute to projects that have a lasting impact.
