My name is Robert Rogness, and I am a data analyst with a Nanodegree from Udacity. I am particularly drawn to the mission of Solve for Good, which aligns with my passion to create impactful change.
During my Nanodegree program, I gained hands-on experience in data analysis through various projects. For instance, I utilized Python to clean and analyze OpenStreetMap data for my home of Snohomish County, leading to significant improvements in data accuracy. I also employed R to explore and generate a comprehensive report on the sales data of various home entertainment consoles. Furthermore, I leveraged Tableau to delve into non-earthquake seismic event data from the USGS.
In addition to my technical skills, I bring to the table my proficiency in Japanese at a business level. This was particularly useful in a recent project where I explored and visualized internal migration data in Japan using Python. For the past 11 years, I have been living and working in Japan as an English teacher. While I enjoy teaching, I am eager to transition into a data analysis role to better support my family. I believe that volunteering with Solve for Good will not only allow me to gain more professional experience but also enable me to contribute meaningfully to your organization's goals.
While my primary motivation is to secure a stable future for my family, I am genuinely excited about the prospect of using my skills to make a positive impact. I am confident that this opportunity will be mutually beneficial, and I look forward to the possibility of contributing to help others.
