I work as a Sr. Statistical Analyst at Grainger, Inc. in Chicago. We use machine learning to solve commercial problems like customer acquisition, customer penetration, personalization, etc.

Although I work in the commercial side, I've always had a passion to use data science to solve social problems and I just haven't found the right fit yet. I think DSSG is simply amazing, and I'd like to be involved in any level possible and work my way through.

I applied to a volunteer RA role in the DSSG website a few months ago. This was my test in the application process: https://github.com/SuryaMurali/DSaPP_RA_Project/blob/master/dsapp_ra_project_surya.ipynb
