I am a mechanical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in troubleshooting and solving technical problems through the application of data management and analysis. During this period, I have become very passionate about collecting, organizing, and presenting data towards creating actionable insights, either by me or others.
I have excellent computer programming skills and proficient in multiple programming languages including C, C++, Python, and R. I am well-versed with statistical analysis. I am skilled in relational database design and SQL with operations in Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLServer. I have extensive experience with creating web-based interactive dashboards, visualizations, and reports using both commercial tools such as Tableau and Grafana or self-developed software using Python-dash and R-Shiny. I routinely create text processing and scripting tools for process automation in Windows, Unix, and macOS. I have experimented with Amazon cloud services, docker containers, and machine learning applications.
In my extensive experience, there has always been lots of available data to be managed and analyzed to gather useful insights - the limiting factor in most cases is the availability of time and personnel resources to do it. I have volunteered for various organizations under various capacities. I feel that it is time to continue with my volunteering efforts by using my time, skills, and passion towards gaining insights from data management and analysis.
My core strength is data organization and presentation. I am very skilled at collecting and combining structured and unstructured data, organizing, and presenting them in an easy-to-interpret format. So, I am primarily interested in data management projects, where I believe my contributions could be of high quality and value. All I wish to accomplish in working on these projects is to lay a data foundation that could be of use to the organization for years to come.
