I am Ebenezer Agbozo, a PhD candidate (Computer Science - specializing in Management in Social and Economic Systems) and senior lecturer at the Ural Federal University in Russia. My research areas cut across Digital Government, ICT for Development (ICT4D), Web Services, Data Analytics, Computational Social Science and Digital Humanities. I teach web development in ASP.NET (C#) to freshman masters group in my department and recently taught my first course in Data Analytics and Visualization in R this past semester to a 3rd year systems engineering undergraduate group. I am well versed in R, SQL, I also work with Python and have some basic experience with Tableau and PowerBI. Primarily, most of the work I enjoy doing is centered around data engineering, information retrieval, text mining, sentiment analysis, semantic analysis, and natural language processing. I am self-driven, a team-player with a global mindset, have cross-cultural exposure, and willing to be on projects that cause a change in society no matter how little. I may not be a professional but I am willing to learn and bring what I have to the table. For the past 3 to 4 years, I have been able to apply my data analytics skills to assist colleagues as well as work on my own scientific research. This is evident in my Google Scholar. One of my publications on using text analytics to provide an exposé on the role of the general public in fighting against illegal small-scale gold mining in Ghana. This is one of many data science real-world application papers I have and will keep on working on. I applied for the DSSG Summer Fellowship in 2019, but got rejected and I decided to follow up on projects DSSG has undertaken. I have been motivated by the work done and I am glad the opportunity has opened up to be a volunteer. I look forward to collaborating and working on fun projects with great minds from all over the world for the good of society .
