The project seeks to generate a dashboard of indicators for each primary school, to allow them to understand their students´ trajectories in secondary and tertiary education. This panel will allow public authorities, school authorities, teachers, as well as their students and families to see the performance of these schools in terms of their students´ trajectories. In this way, by improving the available information, stakeholders will be able to make better decisions.
The quality of education in Chile tends to be measured by indicators that look at the situation of an educational institution while students are usually attending it, in terms of their learning or internal efficiency (dropouts, delay, graduation). However, there is little development in terms of students’ trajectories in a longer-term perspective. That is, for primary students, their results at secondary or even tertiary level of education. This vision, tends to reduce the responsibility of schools for long-term results, reducing the understanding about the effects that their pedagogical actions have on students’ trajectories. The lack of information on the trajectories reduces the visibility of these phenomena for the whole education community.

Most indicators have been designed by previous work of I-Tek Foundation or by different international sources; however, in the project new indicators could be developed. For the estimations of the indicators, we will work with different public databases provided by the Chilean Ministry of Education.
This project is a priority for our institution. We hope that with dashboards, educational communities could bear in mind the implications of their actions in terms of their students’ trajectories. In particular, we expect that: - Schools can better understand what is happening to their students and take action on it. - Students and their families could be aware of the implications of their decisions - Public authorities better understand the importance of working by looking at the trajectories of students
